HOME >> WHO WE ARE

Our Story

Phoenix Family Housing began offering services in 2000 to residents living in low-income housing communities. With many of the households we worked with averaged around $8,000 per year, we realized that many were just one crisis away from becoming homeless. While the reasons why people live in subsidized housing are varied and unique, the one commonality was the need for on-site supportive services. With these services, residents can and do stabilize their lives and become viable, active members of their communities.

Headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, Phoenix Family Housing is an independent non-profit organization. Today, we provide direct, integrated social services to more than 4,700 residents in 28 low-income housing communities in 13 cities throughout Missouri and Kansas.

Our Mission

To provide social services to at risk individuals, families and elderly residents residing in low-to-moderate-income housing communities. The services are designed to assist residents in meeting their economic, social, and psychological needs and to promote the good health, happiness, and security of the residents.
