Distinguished Community Leader Award
Rick Kahle, Lockton Companies LLC
The Phoenix Family Housing Corporation is pleased to present the
2009 Clifton R. Cohn Distinguished Community Leader Award to Rick
Kahle of Lockton Companies, LLC. This award recognizes the exemplary
service of individuals dedicated to improving our community, especially
the lives of residents living in low-income housing.
Rick is dedicated professionally and personally to improving our
community. Through Lockton Companies' support of the Team Smile Initiative,
Rick facilitated free dental services for children living in Phoenix
Family Housing communities. In 2008, Team Smile brought together
dozens of agencies across the Kansas City metropolitan area to provide
$440,000 in free oral health education, screening, and treatment
to children that might not otherwise receive dental care.
Rick's dedication to his family, work and community won him a spot
on the prestigious Ingram's 40 Under Forty. In addition to his work
with Phoenix Family Housing, Rick currently serves on the Board of
Junior Achievement and the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. He has
also worked with several other community agencies, including United
Way and Rotary Youth Camp through a leadership role in Greater Kansas
City Day.
