Help kids in need go back to school ready to succeed!

Not every child starts the school year off with a new outfit, shiny new shoes, and a fresh box of crayons. For families already struggling financially, the cost of getting their children ready for the new school year can be a huge financial burden.

This year, Phoenix Family will help almost 1,800 children in our community receive the school supplies they need to start the school year prepared and ready to learn this August. Phoenix Family is collecting monetary donations as well as backpacks, dictionaries, notebooks, paper, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, folders and binders — among other supplies, for local kids from low-income families. The school supplies will be distributed this August at the 9 multi-family housing communities where Phoenix Family provides services.

WE NEED YOU!

In order to reach our goal and to ensure that every child living in or near a property where Phoenix Family offers services, we need your help. We are still in need of more basic supplies, including: beginner pencils, beginner writing tablets, composition notebooks, gallon- and quart-size storage bags and other basic school supplies. Please join us!

Hold a Supply Drive:

Place a collection bin at your office, store or church to collect supplies like notebooks, glue, crayons and pencils. The donated items will be distributed to children in need at our back to school events.

Make a cash donation:

Don’t have time to shop? You can make a cash donation toward sponsoring a child, building a back pack or buying supplies.

• $18 provides a backpack and school supplies for an elementary school student.
• $26 provides a backpack and school supplies for a middle school/junior high student.
• $37 provides a backpack and school supplies for a high school student.
• You can also make a donation – in any amount – toward buying supplies.
