State Street is the world's leading provider of financial services to institutional investors. The State Street Foundation award grants to organizations to generate and sustain positive change in communities where it has offices. In 2007, State Street made 370 grants totaling US$18.2 million.
Phoenix Family’s Youth Development program helps school-aged children in low-income housing communities gain the skills needed to break the cycle of poverty. Phoenix Family’s Youth Development Program supports the youth on our properties by helping them to avoid high-risk behavior and to stay in school, setting the stage for success. Designed to offer a safe, supervised alternative to wandering the streets, our Youth Development program serves almost 200 children weekly, encouraging them to develop their capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being and to explore their talents and interests. Youth in our programs build self-confidence and self-esteem and a greater understanding, respect and appreciation of others and the community.
